Nominations for the inaugural Sandringham Writers’ Guild Competition are now open.
Students in year nine and ten are invited to address the following prompt in one thousand words or less:
“COVID-19: A force for destruction, or a force for renewal in our community?”
Students in grade 5 and 6 are invited to address the following prompt in two-hundred words or less:
“During COVID-19, the person in my community who did the most to help others was…”
Students may respond using any mode of writing (i.e. poems, stories, essays, and personal reflections).
Submissions may be made via e-mail, post, delivery to my electorate office, or through pre-arranged pick-up by my staff.
Entries must be submitted prior to Friday 18th June 2021.
Winners from each school will be announced on Friday the 2nd July.
These budding authors will then be invited to attend a presentation ceremony at Victorian Parliament House on Friday 23rd July. An overall winner for both the primary and secondary competitions will be announced on this day.
