Brad Rowswell was born at the Sandringham Hospital and grew up in Beaumaris. He went to Stella Maris Primary School in Beaumaris and secondary school at St Bede’s College in Mentone.
From a young age, Brad had various part-time jobs, including as a paper boy and shop assistant. Growing up, he played footy for the Beaumaris Sharks and played cricket for the Beaumaris Cricket Club. Brad was a Cub and then Scout with the 9th Sandringham Scouts and 2nd Beaumaris Sea Scouts.
After completing Year 12, he served as Secretary and as a Committee member of the St Bede’s Old Collegians. Brad also served on the Pastoral Council of Stella Maris, Beaumaris and St Joseph’s, Black Rock.
Brad has worked as Company Secretary for the largest provider of independent education in Victoria and previously worked for one of the largest defence corporations in the world. He has also worked at senior levels of Government as a Senior Adviser to a Cabinet Minister.
Brad is a Life member of the Beaumaris Conservation Society and is deeply committed to preserving the unique local environment.
Brad’s mother and father both migrated to Australia. His father was a returned serviceman, having served Australia during World War II. Brad is a member of the Beaumaris RSL.
Brad is married to Kate and they are both looking forward to raising their family in Sandringham.
