Constituency Question
Legislative Assembly
28 May 2019
My constituency question is for the Premier, and I reference my letter to him dated 6 May 2019.
I therefore ask: will the Premier commit to the immediate removal of graffiti along the Sandringham train line, including along private property and fences abutting the line, with priority being given to the intersection of Abbott and Beaumont streets, Queens Square and King Street, Queens Square and Bath Street, Bridge Street and Moore Street, and areas in the vicinity of the Bridge Street overpass?
The complete closure of the Sandringham line to regular passenger train services presents the government in my view with an unprecedented opportunity to allow workers to safely access assets and fences adjacent to the Sandringham line.
In asking this question I note the concern shared by my colleagues the member for Brighton and the member for Caulfield.
Noting that the line is due to reopen two weeks from now, will the Premier urgently act to remove the prolific volume of graffiti visible along the Sandringham line?
